Match report Well Copdock travelled to the Mighty Abberton this weekend... Eek ignored Burchy's sat nav and took us the long way round... we did however arrive slightly earlier than five minutes before the start this year. What made it worse was than Pidge had never been before and arrived 10 mins before us!! Sickening! The Chokers lost the toss and were asked to bowl. We took to the field with Jenkin missing and the school boys were all unavailable, due to CRB problems!!!! Sharpe kept his place in the side as did Nose. Ben France was back after the success of his make or brake holiday with the little lady and Ethan came in to open the bolwing, ahead of a grumpy and fit Nose. Copdock fielded pretty well and Ethan and Ben took wickets to reduce Abberton to 40-4. And the spin twins again bowled well taking 5 wickets between them, and the waspy Abberton were reduced to 116-8. A couple of Dropped catches ( Thomas and Jerv to my shock ) and Abberton made it to 167 all out.. Luckily Nose was given the task of bowling the last few from one end, Thanks!!! And his extra pace resulted in the last man being stumped!!!! Copdock should really have cleaned things up for 130 ish... so they left themselves a tricky chase and Stucky had warmed up with only his 3 LBW in 13 years! ~!!!! The chase started slowly with Pope being bowled early for bugger all! Jervis, fresh from his telling off for not clearing away his own plate at tea was like a man with a train to catch... He hit four fours over mid on and mid off in the second over he faced. That spurred on the normally SLOW France and they put on 131 in 15 overs. Simply, they smashed it everywhere... Cars were being moved and locals dived for cover. Typically Jerv was caught at long off for a lovely little 60 odd. Sharpe and Nose were sent out to give Abberton an extra point for their troubles, they got 0 and 2 and must now face the chop!! Nose was heard to be making sure everyone knew he was now a bowler too!! Sharpe is well....struggling....he did call the Vice captain last night to say he got 60 in the PDQ side on Sunday! too little..too late!!! Nel won the game with a six and France was left 88 not out and had a really good game... he actually looks a pretty good cricketer!!! The most upsetting part of the day was that Thomas did so much creeping up to the captain, trying to make sure he was going to get in the side next week!!!!! The letting him win the boundary bowls and even moving the sight screen for him... Burchy told me he was sick in his mouth a little when he saw what Hugh was doing¬!!!! Another 20 pts... 6 in 6.... the boys are also now starting to play some good cricket too... which is good as Eek told the paper that we would win the league..... IDIOT !!!!! As always....
