Copdock & Old Ipswichian Cricket Club Lost Phoenix by 28 runs

Match report On a very cold night at IES, there was some good learning and development that took place by the lads, as the Phoenix under 11's, took on an under cover, under 13 IES team.

The difference between the teams, other than the obvious age gap, was IES's fielding was much stronger than that shown by the Phoenix lads, as IES took some good catches and run outs too, where as the Phoenix lads missed their catches and run out chances (more hard work on the training ground needed).

The bowling from the Phoenix lads was mostly good, with a wicket each to Freddie Skinner and Ben Shiraz.
and the rest of bowling was fairly accurate, with not many wides or no balls.

When the Phoenix lads batted there was some good strong hitting for 4's and 6's from Barnaby Greet Smith and Ben Shiraz in particular, and also some good ground strokes from
Oliver Pasco, Freddie Skinner, Cameron Patchett, James Taylor and Samual Seward.

Overall the Phoenix lads scored more runs, than IES did, but with IES taking 10 wickets and the Phoenix's only 2, and with you losing minus 5 runs every time your out, that was the difference in the end.
