Match report First Win of the season for the Copdock T20XI.

Asked to bat first on a pitch that produced plenty of runs the day before, Copdock got off to a poor start at SWS plinked a drive to mid-off at the bottom end where some overnight rain had made the pitch tacky and two paced. Oxley & Mexome pushed on going at 10 an over in the powerplay, with some excellent running and impressive stroke play. Mexome fell but Oxley continued onwards towards 50 despite saying he wasn't timing anything. A fine whip off his hips that raced for 4 would disprove that statement. Oxley had to retire due to the 'participation for all' rule, when he could have eased to a 100. Brame back from an 18 month injury layoff was understandably rusty but Ferg went 4-6-4 off the off-spinner, playing an outrageous reverse sweep which flex to the boundary. But similarly to Snorkel, Ferg also clothed one down the ground and was caught. Mlambo & Froggatt pushed it around before Skip & D finished the innings off at 160, a disappointing total considering 200+ was on the cards after 10 overs.

Ferg's first two balls of the innings went wide and wider down leg with the first over going for 18. Frog bowled with more control but after 2 overs Felixstowe were nearly 35-0 without breaking a sweat. Mlambo got rid of the opener with a hooping in swinger before Froggatt picked up the second wicket - a polite inquiry by the bowler resulted in the Felixstowe No 3 being triggered caught behind as neither keeper or slip heard anything. Burman picked up the dangerous No 4 before Atkins slightly redeemed himself with two wickets. Tough running chances went down but one eventually stuck as Burman had Hughes snaffled behind with a great grab from Skip. The 2 youngsters Varun & Shaanjeai came onto bowl at the tail and bowled with great control each picking up a wicket.
