Match report Bucket and Spade required as the Ladies are forced to dig in against Frinton.

Frinton was the latest destination for an unbeaten ladies team and whilst the warm sun beat down, it disguised a heavy outfield from overnight rain. Elske Kelly took over the captaincy from Olivia Locke, Olivia would have been proud as Elske maintained her record of losing the toss in every game this season. Frinton, quite rightly chose to bowl and within minutes a shellshocked Copdock were 2-2 with Vickers and Hamblin both playing around straight deliveries. For the first time this season the Ladies found themselves behind the 8 ball, Step forward Mai Easton and Elske Kelly. With a mixture of hard running and inventive shots,the 'Elscoop' was born and the ladies dug in. A partnership of 73 steadied the ship. Easton and Kelly both fell to catches as they upped the run rate in the final overs, Copdocks middle order took them into 3 figures. 104-6, a competitive score from a side with an average age of 15.

With Cousins nursing an injury, Vickers stepped in to partner Quinton and open the bowling, 4 tight overs and a sharp run out from Cousins/Quinton settled any nerves.Copdock then took the pace off the ball with Anna Hamblin and Alice Merry, Alice continued her comback from injury with the scalps of Frinton no1 and no3 batters, Whilst Anna kept the run rate in check. Maiden overs from Kelly and Vickers followed by Zinnia and Carrie enjoying a bowl ensured that Copdock sailed home with Kelly grabbing a late wicket thus securing an extra point.
Much credit should go to a mature batting perforance from Easton and Kelly, it should also be noted that extras conceded by the ladies have halved since earlier in the season. Copdock Ladies remain unbeaten and look forward to entertaining Mistley on Thursday night at the Oval.
