Match report After the crushing victory away at Sudbury the winbus was back at the Oval. Another strong looking unit saw Luke Brame included following impressive performances for the thirds. A gloomy day was brightened in the warm up with an East JR hatrick seeing the old uns to another victory. Gunderwood also won a toss and decided to bowl in a reduced 40 over game as the clouds gathered.

East the elder took the new ball with the luckless Thomas who could only dream of a batting average as high as his bowling average was becoming. Nose started off tightly and either side of a rain delay had ripped through the Woolpit top order, including the experienced Pilgrim and West, and Woolpit limped to 60 for 4. As the clouds cleared Packer and Newcombe offered some resistance with Packer in particular looking to be positive and tucking into some boundaries off Nose. Captain Ironfist switched to East JR and himself to make the break through and soon both were back in the hutch as Flopdock began picking up wickets at regular intervals.

Soon Sexton was picking up the last wicket and the Woolpit innings finished in the 39th over for 142. Perhaps a few more than we'd have liked and a few chances down in the field but a very gettable total if the rain stayed away.

After tea Gravell and Reuben began in positive fashion and, when both went to loose shots, Thomas and Nose took up the attack. As Thomas threatened to get into red figures for the afternoon (in fairness there was an excellent grab off Eek) the light disappeared and the rain began. Before things became biblical there was just time for Thomas to play round a straight one and Brame to get off the mark with a booming straight drive.

Ultimately the weather curtailed the victory push but another decent effort. With Little Bardfield next week Reuben was already pretending he'd hurt his ankle.
