Match report
Having passed its MOT the winbus was back on the road with a trip to league leaders and undefeated Sudbury the destination. A tense week of selection saw Reuben eventually pass himself physically if not mentally fit whilst Ashwin declared himself neither and missed out along with professional umpire dodger Wooton. Aware of the harsh demands that Ironfist places on his sides having recently made his debut, Mlambo decided to arrive at Sudbury at 11:00 along with Thomas who wanted to use the two hours before the game started to get in some 'keeping practice.

A strong looking team assembled for the Thomas warm up after the old uns were victorious (morally) in some rugby ball throw around. Thomas however was far from impressed. After one too many Sexton stumble in the fielding drill he called all in for a roasting out of the Ironfist mould! Things improved from here. Ironfist won a toss and elected to bowl on a damp, worn looking track that had Nose drooling as much as when he tries to say "Welease Woderwick". Indeed after some conversation with our International plaboy/pin up "Pauliniho" was given the gloves and Thomas the new ball with Nose in what was to prove a masterstroke.

As the umpires walked out Ironfist called us together for his words of wisdom. Captain Underwood Needed Team Strength and unity he said, and implored the side to give it all they had. Things seemed to get off to a poor start when Sudbury captain Griffiths trotted from the padock to unleash some aggressive strokeplay. He was particularly pleased to pop Teeth into the middle of Sudbury and lose the ball. Though clearly this is what we'd been waiting for.

Thomas was replaced by Gunders and Nose burst into life. 38 for 0 off 8 overs was as good as it would get for Sudbury. Nose got one through the gate of Griffiths. Familiar faces of Pears and Seigert had no answer to the Nose swing and soon it was 43 for 4. Not to be out done Gunders had time to chip in with some wickets as Archie 'niced' someone out and Nose explained to another poor young man that he has one that goes the other way. In the words of Hoppy 'There are good leaves, and there are bad leaves'.

Nose continued his metronomic bowling and even Eek caught one at slip. There was still time for both Blunderwood and the tyrannical Thomas to spill chances but Nose was not to be denied, cleaning up the last batsmen to finished with outrageous figures of 7 for 7 - in a Flopdock style choke Sudbury had fallen from 39 for 0 to 48 all out.

Reuben and Archie opened up and were quickly into their strides pouncing on anything short and Gravell in particular driving anything over pitched. In a blink of an eye we were up to and past the winning score. A near perfect day, just a shame Nose got the wickets.

The Winbus rolls to Woolpit next week, TRONGS IS STILL ON!

Sachin Sombrero - Ironfist in a landslide
Blooper - Ironfist dropped catch (Hmm I thought Hugh got this - Ironfist)
