Match report Well another win for the first team on an interesting wicket at Maldon. Pidge lost the toss and they had no hesitation on batting first on a pitch that looked like it would break up and become a turning spitting nightmare!

Nose opened up as the only seamer on show ( sorry Jerv ) and promptly removed the dangerous Maldon Pro. shocked with the extra pace, he could only glove a rising lifter to Nel in the gully. 4-1. Pidge started at the campsite end and bowled his 16 straight off. He had the sickening figures of 16-6-20-3. To go for only 20 runs in 16 overs in a one day game is pretty special.

amldon batted fairly strangely and finished only 7 down but only 144 on the board. Odd???

Pidge opened the batting with Jerv and both scored freely. Although moving at 6-7 an over, regular wickets tumbled. Nell and Jerv both got to 20 before holing out and Pidge was bowled attempting a Sharpe like cut to a half volley.

Nose came and went for 1. A real poor death, LBW sweeping a full toss. So at 75 for 5 the match was in the balance. Popey and Gravell (A) put on 75 to win the game. Popey the more fluent with 45 not out off 59 balls, Archie managed 25 from 71. A decent return for his first game back in a year. The King is back!

All in all, a decent win on a shocking track.

With Cogg losing and us still to play the top 2... who knows!! Who knows!!
