New Academy Team - Sunday Development XI

13 Feb 2021

Good Afternoon,

As you will be imminently receiving renewal invitations from our membership team for the 2021 season, I wanted to write to you all as an update to our academy pathway which will improve the transition from Junior to Senior Cricket.

I can now confirm the Academy Development side has been accepted into the lowest tier (Division 5) of the Hunts Bat Sunday league. There are 9 other teams in the division so the team will have a maximum of 18 league fixtures this season. Games will be 40 overs per side with games scheduled to start at 1pm on a Sunday. The fixtures have been populated on the club website and at the time of writing (subject to government restrictions), our first game will be on Sunday 25 April.

Our vision remains that this squad will consist of U15,17&19 development players as well as parents/older club members who are interested in nurturing and guiding our younger players forward.

Given the challenges of meeting in person at this current time and in order for us to start preparing effectively for the start of the new season, would you please reconfirm your position as it comes to wishing to represent this team next season. We would like to have a nucleus of a playing side as well as a small pool of parental assistance when it comes to either playing alongside your child or assisting with umpiring/scoring in order that the players can just focus on adapting their games to the demands of senior cricket.

I will be back in contact shortly once we have received responses to this email and when the cricketing landscape for the 2021 playing season becomes clearer.

I look forward to seeing and speaking with you all shortly.

Neil Maynard
