Skipper Dan Leggett won the toss and the Cavaliers opted to bat. Will Seitam and Ollie Stace opened the batting, starting slowly and by the end of the 5 th the score was 13. Seitam and Stace accelerated in the second five, and by the end of the 10 th they had moved the Cavaliers up to 63 for no wicket. Stace then reached his 50 and retired, to be replaced by Harry Reddington. The score was 85 at the end of the 12 th . In the 16 th , with the score on 111, Seitam reached his 50, and also retired. James Doig was next in. It was 130 off 17 overs, and with one over to go, with Reddington and Doig both batting positively, the scored had moved on to 147. A profitable last over moved the total to 162, with Reddington unbeaten on 41 and Doig unbeaten on 12.

In the IES innings, Ollie Mexome and Byron Evans opened the bowling. Mexome picked up a wicket, bowled, in his second over, and at the end of the 3 rd the score was 9 for 1. At the end of the 6 th the score was 20 for 1. Seth Green replaced Mexome and James Dines replaced Evans, the latter picking up a wicket, bowled, in his first over. In his second over, Dines bowled two batsmen with consecutive balls. On the hat- trick ball, the batsman played and missed, and then on the following ball he put it up and it was caught by Mexome. Three wickets in four balls for Dines! At the end of the 10 th IES were 37 for 5. Ollie Hurst bowled the 11 th over. It was 68 for 5 at the end of the 15 th . Skipper Leggett bowled the 16 th . Dillon Hatcher bowled the 17 th , picking up a wicket with his second ball, caught and bowled. Mexome came back for the 18 th and Evans for the 19 th . Evans bowled batsmen in consecutive balls to set up the second hat-trick ball of the innings, which the batsman managed to keep out, although Evans finished with a double wicket maiden. Leggett bowled the last, picking up a wicket caught Dines, and IES finished on 81 for 9.
