Match report 'Some positives but stuff to work on.'

A good start by Snorkel and Seal mean't that we got to 108/1 off 10 overs and a score of 180+ was looking likely, especially given how well the pitch was playing during its fourth consecutive days play. But regular dismissals and questionable decision making meant we stumbled to 147/7 off 20. There was nothing special about the Felixstowe bowlers but very negative batting and dodgy running hindered us from really pushing on.

Arch took the new pink ball from the top end and bowled McKay, much to everybody's amusement as the ball bounced twice, yorking the poor batsman. Redderz opened up from the other end bowling skiddy medium pace and soon got himself a wicket with Charlie taking a brilliant diving catch to his right. From there onwards, the bowling was far too short. Burman was unlucky to be wided as often by the Felixstowe umpire with the ball swinging away. Livingston batted well whilst being ably supported by Ben Hopkins (brother of 2nd XI Adam) and Burrows. Mex was the only bowler who had any real control as he removed Hopkins and only conceded 9 runs. But Parker, fresh off his Suffolk 1st XI debut took a liking to the leg-spin of Archie, and hit him for two 6's to end the match.

The main thing is we certainly looked professional in our coloured kit and fun was had by all in this friendly. Many thanks to Jamie and Rich for the burgers afterwards.
