Match report In a crucial match against Hadleigh, the crusaders came up just short.
With a slightly different team from the defeat on Monday, we batted first looking to get 150 on a green looking pitch. A good start by Hodge and Jacob looked promising but then the pitch slowed up meaning we had to wait for the ball, unlike at Copdock earlier in the week. 3 wickets were bowled via the bat as everyone struggled to adapt to the pitch. Despite that at 86 for 3 off 10, we could have easily got 160/170 which would have been 20 over par. However, wickets continued to tumble as Copdock finished on 112 all out. Disappointing considering what we could have got but still defendable.

Hadleigh struggled to 20 for 2 off their 6 powerplay overs as Mex and Hodge bowled superbly and all of the pressure was on Hadleigh as the run-rate continued to climb. A few loose overs and some sub-standard fielding allowed Hadleigh back into the game as Handley continued his good form, currently 9th in the Country for runs scored, retiring on 53. With him gone and also Manthorpe back in the pavilion, Copdock had a fantastic chance of squeezing and transferring the pressure back but some good running between the wickets mean't that Hadleigh won with 8 balls to spare. A fantastic atmosphere to play in and enjoyed by all. Hadleigh advance to Finals day unbeaten.
