Match report Due to an incredible lack of commitment Jon Cuff was unavailble for todays game. Preferring instead to go for a stroll with his "friends" he has at last shown his true colours. It therefore comes down to me to write this weeks match report...

Largely because of Cuff's absence team spirit and morale was at an all time high, and this was reflected in an excellent performance. Unbelievably the toss was won by Copdock and on a slightly damp pitch the home team chose to field first. Initially this plan seemed to backfire as IES got off to a fast start with both their openers finding the boundary regularly.

Debutant Jono Absolon made a promising start and looks like he will soon be pushing for a first team place. Welcome to the club Jono...

The introduction of spin on a receptive pitch helped slow the scoring rate and Druitt (3 for 53) and Banham (2 for 48) both produced excellent spells. Our ground fielding was tremendous and it was a great effort to restrict IES to just 206.

Our innings began in fine style with Martin Taylor smashing the ball to all parts before a leading edge saw the end of him. It was then down to Scott Harvey and Adam Baker to put together an unbroken partnership of 173 to take us to victory. The two left handers were simply exceptional and were able to keep up with the run rate without taking any risks.

Scott Harvey led the way with a fabulous 106 not out, and "Teddy" Baker (66 not out) at last proved he can make the adjustment from 1st XI cricket!!! It was great to watch the two of them in action. Well done guys..

So, the good news is we have won our last 3 games and moved into 4th place in the league table. The bad news is that Cuff is back next week..!!
