Match report With the pitch inspection at 11 the game was given the go ahead to start at 1 but using a different wicket to the one that had been prepared. This one looked a little green and with the chance of rain the toss needed to be won, stand in captain Olly Williams did just that and elected to bowl. Their first wicket fell in the fourth over, Harry Knights taking a simple catch at covers off Charlie Lewis's bowling. St Margarets wickets fell very quickly and where now 16-4, Charlie Lewis bagging all four. A stand of 24 was then nipped in the bud with Harry Knights taking his second of three catches off the bowling of Olly Williams. Only their opener looked like scoring anything, however Harry Knights had him caught behind to bag his first senior wicket. Harry Harvey then mopped up the tail and finished with three wickets, a good bowling and fielding display, nine catches and Charlie Lewis taking 5 wickets for the second time this season.
A quick chat before tea by team coach Chris Sparrow reminded the team that the pitch would play the same for us and that they had 56 overs to get the 94 runs required. Once the batsmen were out there they looked to take some very poor bowling apart. By the time Jez Humberstone was bowled behind his legs for 22 the score was already a third of the way there. Nick Meakin (45NO) and Daran 21NO) pushed on for the win, not even a small rain break could stop them. A good win and a good allround display with the full 20 points. ONWARD & UPWARD
