Woolpit v Copdock & Old Ipswichian Cricket Club 1st XI on Sat 03 Sep 2011 at 12.30pm
Copdock & Old Ipswichian Cricket Club Won by 3 wickets

Match report So you are all aware: I've had an email from Archie regarding the report:

"I'd also like to register a complaint with the Woolpit match report, I didn't miss it, it was a bottom edge.. and it was more like neck high than waist high. " - Archie Gravell

Copdock travelled to the home of the Neon Foxes on Saturday to face a potential banana skin and the “ Hired Assassin “. It was one of the first times Sharpe had been dropped in nearly 6 weeks and had provided many hours of telephone calls on all the major phone ins throughout the week. I for one had not slept and was woken up by Reuben in tears in my back garden at 4am the night before the game. He even deliberately left huge black marks on my wall to register his disgust. Adele is livid.

After a goal less football match in the warm up which left the Old-ens unbeaten for another week, Copdock lost the toss and were asked to bowl.

On a pitch that went through slightly Nose and Jenko opened up. Nose bowled well and got the ball to move around without any luck... Jenko bowled poorly and has probably cost himself the slim chance he had of getting in the player of the year mix.

At Drinks Woop – it were 125 for 1 from 25 overs.... Their pro on 61 and looking in good nick.... Nel and Eek went to work and Jenko caught one, dropped one, luckily he caught the right one! Eek and Nelly both got 4 wickets... Nelly was far more expensive and went for 40 to Eek’s 39. Eek also caught four catches, including a slipper off Nose – incredible.

Woop-it finished 188-9 and what was a great comeback from Copdock was also slightly disappointing as only 19 points could be taken, IF Copdock knocked them off.

Archie was out missing a waist hi full toss and Nelly swiped his way to 20 before chasing a wide one... Mark B batted well for 29 before top edging a sweep. Pidge – OMG – was caught point reverse sweeping... I can’t mention it without feeling ill.

Jed batted really well for 42 before unluckily be bowled off bat, pad, foot and finally stumps...

This left Nose and Hugh in the normal position of trying to get things back on track.. 70 needed..5 down. They put on a few before hugh was caught for 21... Ricey came and went... and Nose and Jenko saw things home.. Nose 30 not out ( again ) and Jenko 21.

Nose for player of the year!

Good win, 19 points, still top... one point in it!

Whoop

The futures bright, the future’s Copdock.
