Match report THE DAY JERV DROPPED A CATCH

Copdock Crusaders travelled to sleepy Frinton this week and had a fairly strong side. Hugh Thomas was picked up at Colchester station having slept rough, great commitment.

Popey held his place in the starting line up, having seen the boys over the line last week at Mildenhall.

Tom Palmer was found having spent 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness out near Stowupland trying to find himself, and was back to open the bowling. Kingy kept his place having performed well the week before, a big thanks to both him and uncle Ray for sorting that out... unlucky Frenchie!!!

Frinton won the toss and batted???? Nose and Kit-Kat Duo bowled well first up and created pressure, Jerv dropped a sitter at 2nd slip off Nose in the first over. Two things make this odd. One, Jerv dropped it and two, Nose had a second slip.

Frinton basically folded and scored 117 all out... although without some late order runs wouldn’t and perhaps shouldn’t have scored 80!

Copdock chased the runs down swiftly with Jerv out caught third man for 7 and Kingy out after steadying the ship for 25.

Hugh scored 64 not out and played well again, he looks better all the time!
