Our future vision for the club is simply to become the "best" club in South Suffolk. To help guide us on our way our Club Development Plan contains the following mission statements;
These objectives can only be achieved through a combination of member commitment and financial investment. In recent years the Club has made significant progress in both aspects.
- To provide quality cricket in a safe and enjoyable environment encompassing all ages, sexes and including local schools and the community.
- To ensure all standards of cricketer are catered for and that all playing members have the ability to play at a level appropriate to their ability.
- To ensure the quality of the 1st XI squad is sufficient to compete at the highest possible standard.
- To ensure practice and coaching facilities are of a suitable standard to enable all playing members to improve their performance.
- To provide all members, guests and visitors to the Club with the best possible facilities both on and off the pitch.
- To further ensure these facilities meet the standards required to host Minor County and other prestige fixtures.
Led primarily by the Junior Section, the Club now has far more playing and social members than at any time in its history. As a direct result of this we have seen a massive increase in the number of people getting involved in the running and administration of the Club. Not only does this include taking on formal responsibilities (secretary, treasurer etc.) but equally importantly getting involved wherever and whenever needed - pre and post season work parties, coaching, ground/equipment maintenance, fund raising, breakfast club, league representative, team captains/vice captains, professional advice, administration, transport etc. etc.
The Club is indebted to everyone who so generously donates their time and efforts to support the Club. Without this level of member commitment we would have no chance of achieving the objectives in our mission statement. Thank you to everyone who already gets involved, and if anyone else would like to do so please get in touch.....
On the field, the number of playing members has also increased in recent years. As a consequence of this we introduced a new senior side in 2009 to ensure the Club could provide enough playing opportunities for all, the ladies team goes from strength to strength and we are now playing more cricket at Copdock than ever before. In the last 3-4 years this has led to an unparalled period of onfield achievement culminating in the 1st XI winning the Two Counties Championship in 2011 and gaining promotion into the elite East Anglian Premier League - the highest standard of club cricket it is possible to play. We are always on the look out for new players of all standards. If you would like to join us please get in touch....
Over the last five years the Club has invested over £115,000 towards meeting our mission statement objectives. This is an enormous amount of money for what is still a village cricket club, and we should be proud of everything that we have achieved over this period. This investment includes;
| New Nets
|| £45,000 |
| Artificial Pitch
|| £9,000 |
| Outfield Mower
|| £10,500 |
| Square Mower + Cassettes
|| £8,000 |
| Junior Coaching Equipment
| Additional Covers
|| £4,500 |
| New Scorebox
| New Sightscreens
| New Covers
In addition to successful grant applications, we have been very fortunate to benefit from the generous support of our vice presidents and sponsors to help fund this investment. We are extremely grateful to everyone who has been involved with this. However, there is still plenty of work to be done and plenty of improvements to the Club we still want to make. If you would like to make a financial contribution to these efforts please let us know...!!
Our club is already a good one, but we want to make it a great place to be, and we hope that as members you will fully share in supporting and playing your active part in making the dream come true.
